George’s

George’s is a catering facility located on the 3rd floor of the Johnson Center. Originally, it was open to all patrons for lunch only hours. However, due to limited space, George’s was only able to serve 100 students a day and the decision was made to close it as a regular dining location. Currently, the location used to cater closed meetings and gatherings of the university

Southside

Monday – Friday: 7am – 9pm

Saturday and Sunday: 10:30am – 9pm

What is Southside?

Southside is a buffet style dining location located across from Skyline gym. The location contains six individual restaurant options under one roof to serve a variety of dining needs.

Without Boundaries: Located just as  you walk in Southside, Without Boundaries features a custom omelet bar and serves breakfast foods on the weekdays and brunch on the weekends. International cuisine is featured during the lunch and dinner hours.

Changing Colors: The salad bar is stocked with fresh produce and is complemented by a fruit bar, complete with yogurt and granola.

PastAmore: The pasta bar features a range of choices for diners to create their own pasta bowl from a choice of varied noodles, meat toppings, vegetables and sauces. Thin crust pizza is baked fresh in a wood stove and served with a variety of toppings. Breadsticks, strombolis and calzones are sometimes available.

4400 Grill: Grilled chicken, burgers, hotdogs and veggie burgers are cooked over a hot flame at the grill. Onion rings, french fries and burger toppings are available to complement the main dishes.

After All: To top off an all you can eat meal, this location provides sweets in every shape and size. Ice cream is available as soft serve or scooped and the staff bakes fresh cookies, cakes and other baked goods each day.

Wrapped Up: The final stop at Southside is a deli bar. Wraps and sandwiches are made to order with a variety of bread, meat, cheese and topping choices. Wrapped Up also features a selection of vegan meat substitutes.

Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A is an on campus off campus favorite. Located on the bottom floor of Student Union Building 1 it is known for it’s waffle fries and breaded chicken.

The Rathskeller

The Rathskeller or the Rat is Mason’s sports bar located in the bottom of Student Union Building 1. Dining options include burgers and other typical American fare. It is the only place in the center of campus that you can grab a beer – after class of course. Featuring multiple TV screens to watch all the sports on offer and one large central screen for the big game. The Rat is also fitted with the Akoo music system so you can pick what you listen to while you eat.

Ike’s is a late night diner located in President’s Park. Ike’s offers breakfast foods, paninis, burgers and milkshakes at booths. It features the Akoo music system so you can pick what you listen to while you eat.

Taco Bell Express

Starbucks

GMU Chew Review: 4.26 out of 5 forks

 

Starbucks is the only dining facility that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Starbucks is a great location for studying and to get a caffeine fix. Starbucks accepts Mason Money, but not meal plan.

 

 

 

 

 

Freshens

11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the JC.

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the JC.

1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday in the RAC.

Freshens has two locations one on the main level of the Johnson Center (JC) and one in the RAC. It’s the place to go for smoothies and ice cream.
